In this activity, students will construct small paper x-planes and fly them by producing their own thrust, by blowing air through a drinking straw. Students will then examine how the four forces of flight and Newton’s Third Law of Motion affected the plane.

4 Forces Of Flight & Newton’s 3rd Law

In this activity, students will construct small paper x-planes and fly them by producing their own thrust, by blowing air through a drinking straw, to examine Newton’s Third Law of Motion. Students will design and build a second airplane attempting to improve the design of their plane in order to allow it to fly further.

Pilot the SpaceX Dragon

This simulator will familiarize you with the controls of the actual interface used by NASA Astronauts to manually pilot the SpaceX Dragon 2 vehicle to the International Space Station.

Make a Paper Mars Helicopter

In this project, you will build a paper helicopter. Then, just as NASA engineers had to try out different versions of the Mars helicopter before coming up with a final design, you will experiment with the design of your helicopter to see what works best.
